I have known that Emily loves dancing and music since I first felt her go crazy in my tummy when Danny would play his bass or I was at one of his orchestra concerts. She has been in a formal dance class now for two years and has loved it. In her own words "its dancilicious!" She is all about the posing and drama and of course the costumes! Miss Tracee has been such a fun and incredible dance teacher but sadly she too will be going the way of the Graduating Dental School Wife and migrating west along the Mormon Trail. I need to start my search for a new studio and hardly know where to begin.

Sam's brain is always at work! He has been trying to invent from the time we introduced the word "work" to him and often drags Emily along for the ride. Like his Dad, he would rather spend more time figuring out a faster and easier way to get something done then on actually getting it done :-) We first noticed it at three when he tried to invent the toy-picker-upper. He explained to me exactly what parts it would need, and exactly what those parts would do and what they should look like, as I drew out the plans for him. (I don't know if he actually ever picked up the toys that had inspired the creative burst.) Once the plans were drawn up he got his shoes on and asked to be taken to Home Depot to get the metal and parts. During February's Black History Month at school Sam wrote about Elijah McCoy the inventor and when it was time to write about what he would be when he grows up he was quick to choose "Toy Inventor."

He is also a photographer and we often find fun, random pictures he has taken that give us a further look into his mind. We find pictures of what he has been watching on television, playing on the computer, or his toys such as his beloved Tiger. We have also found some fun ones of us from a kid's perspective and yes we have even found pictures of pretty girls!
So I think Sam just might end up becoming an inventor, a photographer or maybe even a MANAGER. (The last time we went berry picking, within a few minutes he had all of the other kids filling his bucket and when we moved to a new spot they even carried it for him. Sounds corporate to me :-)

Sarah, those were so funny to read. Little Emmy the dancer and Sam the inventor/photographer. I love how unique and individual they both are. :) So fun!

We call the flair for "management" "Tom Sawyer syndrome" Spencer could smooth talk any number of *helpers* to *paint our fence* :) His siblings are finally getting wise to it. Cute kids!!!
